Current Threat Industry Impacted: Energy, Industrial
IBM X-Force researchers identified a new wiper malware dubbed ZeroCleare, used in destructive attacks that targeted the energy and industrial sectors in the Middle East. During analysis, IBM identified similarities between ZeroCleare and Shamoon, a destructive malware used in various earlier destructive attacks within the same region.
Cyber Threat Actor Industry Impacted: Financials
QuoINT has detected a new version of the Cobalt Group backdoor Cobint and distributed a Warning to our Gold and Platinum customers upon detection. The attackers compiled the backdoor on 29 November and registered the Command and Control domain on 20 November, indicating the campaign is likely current.
