Vulnerabilities Industry Impacted: Information Technology
Microsoft addressed 59 security patches across multiple products, including Internet Explorer, Edge, Exchange Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Office, Windows, and more in its October Patch Tuesday. According to Microsoft, none of the vulnerabilities addressed in this update are under active exploitation.
Threat Actor Activity Industry Impacted: Financials
In the last week, QuoINT has detected multiple attack waves of an ongoing spear phishing campaign spoofing the European Central Bank, which are ultimately delivering a backdoor malware payload known as CobInt and attributed to the Cobalt threat actor group.
GEOPOLITICS
EU member states, alongside the European Commission and European Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), published the ”EU coordinated risk assessment of the cybersecurity of 5G networks”.
According to Microsoft, the alleged Iranian state-backed APT group Phosphorous (also known as APT35, Charming Kitten, or Ajax) targeted 241 Microsoft user accounts between August and September.
