Vulnerability

Researchers at Zero Day Initiative released a proof-of-concept, including technical details and a demonstration, for exploiting a recently patched remote code execution vulnerability existing in all versions of Microsoft Exchange Server. Since the release of the PoC, there are several reports of mass scanning activity for vulnerable Exchange servers.

Google released a security advisory for its web browser Chrome, to address three new vulnerabilities rated as high, of which one is a zero-day with reported exploitation in the wild.

GEOPOLITICS

An exponential increase of reported coronavirus cases in Italy in the last week is likely to quickly spread across Europe, given Europe’s open borders. Considering a likely spread of the virus across Europe, global organizations and companies operating in or with impacted regions may be required to stop travel and enforce work from home restrictions. CIOs and CISOs are advised to prepare for an increase in teleworking and related security implications.
