Current Threats Industry Impacted: ANY
Researchers at Intezer discovered a new malware dubbed HiddenWasp, which targets Linux systems, and is apparently a second-stage used in targeted attacks for remotely controlling already compromised systems. At the time of the researcher’s reporting from the end of May, HiddenWasp samples effectively evaded detection by Anti-Virus products listed on VirusTotal.
Vulnerabilities Industry Impacted: ANY, Information Technology
A researcher published details of a vulnerability in the Network Level Authentication (NLA) feature of Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Protocol that could allow an attacker to bypass the lock screen on remote sessions.
GEOPOLITICS
China and Russia are expanding their economic cooperation as they announced new business ventures over the previous week. Although closer cyber cooperation between the two countries is unlikely in the short-term, it is possible over the longer term if they continue extending their political, military, and economic cooperation.
