Threat Actor Industry Impacted: Industrial, Government
Microsoft announced that the company disrupted cyberattacks from a threat group known to them as Thallium by taking control of ”50 domains that the group uses to conduct its operations”. QuoINT previously analysed a correlation between cyberattacks attributed to North Korea and diplomacy involving the country. In line with this observed correlation, this announcement and attribution by Microsoft comes as North Korea and US tensions continue escalating around nuclear and strategic weaponry.
